Borba GmbH - Insights into our work on social media

Borba GmbH Feinwerktechnik from Itzehoe has stood for maximum precision, modern production technology and customer relationships based on partnership for over 20 years. With our combination of experience and innovative spirit, we have established ourselves as a reliable partner in CNC manufacturing - for sophisticated individual parts as well as series production in industries ranging from aviation to automotive and medical technology.

2026 is a year of new beginnings and growth for us. Our company is expanding - in terms of capacity, team and service portfolio. We are investing in new technologies, expanding our machinery and recruiting qualified employees to meet the requirements of our national and international customers even better.

People and machines - insights from everyday working life

Since the beginning of this year, we have been giving up Instagram and Facebook regularly provides insights behind the scenes of our company. The people who live precision every day at Borba take centre stage.

Insight into day-to-day operations - one of our skilled workers during production.

In our articles, we introduce the people behind the technology: from long-standing employees with decades of experience to young talents who bring a breath of fresh air to our processes and enrich our team.

Our machinery is also presented on a regular basis. For example, we will be showing a state-of-the-art CNC production machine that was recently put into operation:

One of the latest additions to our machine park - optimised for the most complex tasks.

These articles are not just for information, but also for dialogue: they show how we work, where we are and where we want to go.

Precision as a philosophy

What sets us apart is not just our machinery - but the people who operate it. Every employee brings their own strengths to the table and contributes to our joint success. This attitude is reflected not only in our dealings with each other, but also in the way we support our customers. For us, high-quality production does not just mean perfect components - it means working together as partners from the initial enquiry through to delivery.

Another look at the last few weeks shows the successful collaboration between the production team and project management:

Joint coordination within the team - the basis for precise production processes.

State-of-the-art technology - for the highest demands

Precision is more than just a word at Borba - it is a daily work constant. Our machinery includes a wide range of state-of-the-art CNC machining centres for turning and milling. From classic 3-axis machining centres to highly complex 5-axis solutions, we offer solutions for the most demanding tasks. Robotics and automation processes support both efficiency and repeat accuracy.

A recent post on Instagram shows impressively how automation and precision machining go hand in hand:

Automation processes in use - increased efficiency with the highest quality requirements.

This technical foundation enables us to manufacture components from a wide variety of materials - from the smallest precision parts to large-format components. Our customers appreciate the flexibility with which we respond to changing requirements, whether for customised products or complex series production.

Expansion of the service portfolio

In recent months, we have expanded our service portfolio in order to respond to the growing demands of the industry. The expansion of machining centres and automation solutions increases our capacities and at the same time ensures stable delivery times. At the same time, we are investing in further training for our employees so that they can work safely and efficiently with the latest technologies.

Responsibility and quality

As an established family business, we bear responsibility - towards our customers, employees and the region. Quality and reliability are not just buzzwords, but values we live by. Internal processes are continuously reviewed and optimised to not only meet expectations, but to exceed them.

Our customers benefit from this in the form of solutions that are precisely manufactured, robust and delivered on time. Close collaboration - from technical clarification to dispatch - creates trust and often long-term partnerships.

Connected in the region - and beyond

Even though we are rooted in Itzehoe, our services are in demand far beyond the region. National and international customers rely on our expertise. At the same time, we are proud to be a local employer offering jobs with future prospects and inspiring young talent for technology and manufacturing.

Our activities in social media not only show technology, but also everyday life at Borba: teamwork, a sense of responsibility and mutual appreciation - values that characterise our daily actions.

Good news from the 2nd Regional Basketball League: The Borba Eagles Itzehoe have landed a very important victory. The Itzehoe Eagles' second men's team won 82:79 at BG Halstenbek/Pinneberg, demonstrating precisely the qualities on which the partnership with Borba GmbH is based: Commitment, motivation and team spirit. The Eagles' young players turned round a game that had almost been lost, with Tim Schlegel (photo) in particular excelling with 39 points. A strong performance with the logo of a strong partner on the chest.

Borba products fulfil the highest customer requirements, both nationally and internationally. CNC lathe operators and milling cutters are constantly being sought, and company boss Fehim von Borstel is particularly keen to recruit more employees from the local area. „It is important for us to become even more visible in the region as a good employer that offers many benefits“ - he cites 12.5 salaries, 30 days' holiday and a company pension as examples. This is why the existing partnership with the Itzehoe Eagles has been intensified once again: Their second men's team now plays in the 2nd regional basketball league under the name Borba Eagles Itzehoe.

This is a first in the Eagles„ history, and coach Dennis Wesselkamp is proud of it: “We are delighted about this connection to a strong Itzehoe-based company and are doing everything we can to represent Borba in northern Germany in the best possible way.„ The main aim of the second men's team is to support young players in their development. This fits in very well with Borba, says Fehim von Borstel: “A willingness to perform, high motivation and team-orientated work are exactly the qualities that we also want from our employees."

25 years of Borba GmbH

25 years of Borba GmbH

1998: Fehim von Borstel founds Borba GmbH with Margrit Bahr (left) and authorised signatory Martina Klindt. The company starts out as a distributor of fasteners and service provider for the calibration of measuring equipment, but quickly switches to the production of high-precision precision mechanical components. Even after 25 years, Borba GmbH is still consistently focussed on quality. Fehim von Borstel has managed the company alone since 2012, following the retirement of Margrit Bahr.

36 modern processing machines are available at the company headquarters in Störfischerstraße in Itzehoe for automated production. In view of the good order situation for years to come, CNC turners and millers are always in demand. With the recruitment of engineers in the fields of mechanical and electrical engineering, Borba GmbH has broadened its expertise and further optimised its processes. The succession in the company has been organised, Fehim von Borstel's daughter Emina and her husband Jan have long been in positions of responsibility. The company founder is very pleased with the anniversary and thanked his 60-strong workforce with a bonus: „Many of them have been with Borba GmbH for many years. Without them, the company's excellent development would not have been possible. Thank you very much for that!“

The anniversary was celebrated with the entire workforce.

Special stainless steel products instead of basketball, factory instead of training hall: Shaquille Rombley visited the Itzehoe precision engineering company before the Itzehoe Eagles' Borba home game against the SBB Baskets Wolmirstedt in the play-off quarter-finals of the BARMER 2nd Basketball Bundesliga. Company boss Fehim von Borstel showed him how products for industries such as aviation, mechanical engineering and medical technology are manufactured with the utmost precision.

„The order books are full,“ said von Borstel, but made it clear what Borba GmbH is missing: employees and trainees. The company is looking for CNC turners and millers, production assistants as well as industrial and office clerks. The managing director also welcomes career changers, who are taught everything they need to know: continuous training is a matter of course at Borba.

„We rely heavily on employees from the region,“ says the Managing Director. The innovative and forward-looking family business attaches great importance to offering its employees a lot, including free ice cream: the ice cream van comes to the company premises every week.

Certification confirmed

Certification confirmed

EN 9100:2018 - the TÜV NORD certificate for the management system hangs in the foyer of Borba GmbH. And quite rightly so, as has now been confirmed by TÜV NORD: Following the re-certification of aviation conformity last year, this year's surveillance audit at the company was again successful.

The auditors meticulously scrutinised the internal audit documents, operational risk management, all relevant processes in the company, environmental aspects, occupational safety and much more.

There were no deviations, so that Thomas Lehmann, member of the Executive Board, was able to state with satisfaction: „The path we have taken has been confirmed once again.“

Always good jobs available

Always good jobs available

The order situation: very good. Borba GmbH supplies its customers with innovative products of the highest quality, and there is plenty to do in the workshops on Störfischerstraße in Itzehoe. The company also wants to fulfil orders reliably in the long term, which is why it is constantly on the lookout for new employees. Well-paid positions are available, CNC turners and millers are just as welcome as personnel to operate the machines. A lateral entry is possible at any time - the most important requirements are technical understanding and reliability.

Excellent work

Excellent work

More speed. More efficiency. More safety. No company boss would say no. Felix Lenkeit, responsible for innovation at Borba GmbH, has succeeded in combining all three advantages. The reward was a prize in the thesis competition of the IZET innovation centre in Itzehoe.

As a mechanical engineering student, Lenkeit utilised the close connection between Borba and Esko Graphics in the innovation room. For his Bachelor's thesis, he designed a roller for Esko, while during his Master's thesis it was built, tested and optimised at Borba. The 26-year-old says that he was able to incorporate a lot of experience and knowledge from both companies.

Workflow improved

The result: The roller installed by Esko in the machines manufactured there improves the automated workflow. For example, loading and, above all, unloading are faster thanks to the many assemblies that are now integrated, the susceptibility to errors has been reduced and thus process reliability increased, Lenkeit describes.

He submitted his bachelor's and master's theses on the new generation of rollers to the thesis competition. A presentation was then required on the „Optimisation of the photopolymer plate mounting of a vacuum roller“. And in the end, Lenkeit was delighted to take third place.

Rich gifts for the festive season

Rich gifts for the festive season

Cheese closes the stomach. During the nutritious festive season, this wisdom takes on a whole new meaning - and the Borba employees will not be short of food. For the photo, electrical engineer Daniel Thamm is allowed to pick up the platter of cheese from Sarzbüttel, along with a bag filled with other treats for everyone. In a cosy get-together, the staff take their well-deserved festive break. Borba GmbH wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and all the best for 2023!
